| 머리말 |


공중보건학은 지역사회의 노력을 통해 질병을 예방하고 생명을 연장하며 신체적, 정신적 효율
을 증진시키는 기술과 과학이다. 조직화된 지역사회의 노력으로 환경위생, 전염병의 관리, 개인위
생에 관한 보건교육, 질병의 조기발견과 예방을 위한 의료 및 간호 서비스의 조직화, 모든 사람
이 자기의 건강을 유지하는데 적합한 생활수준을 보장받도록 사회제도를 발전시키는 내용을 포함
하고 있다. 또한 공중위생학이란 사회가 발전함에 따라 개인의 건강문제가 개인에 국한되지 않고
사회 전체의 환경변화에 영향을 받게 됨으로써 보다 많은 사람들의 공중위생에 대한 인식을 갖
게 되었고, 이러한 연구 분야를 공중위생학이라는 용어로 사용하고 있다.
그러나 오늘날 공중위생보건과 관련된 서적은 대부분 의료인에 초점이 맞추어져 출판되고 있는
것이 현실이고 또한 관련 국내서적은 공중보건학, 소독학, 전염병학, 해부생리학으로 세분화되고 광
범위하게 내용을 다루고 있기에 우리 미용인들이 접하기에는 그다지 유익하지 않았다. 따라서 대학
강단에서 학생들에게 공중위생학을 가르치고 있는 필자는 국내 참고서적이 풍부하지 못한 현실에
대한 안타까움과 미용인의, 미용인을 위한, 미용인에 의한 교재를 제공하고자 하는 마음으로 국내 ?
외 많은 관련 서적을 참고하여 우리 미용인에 초점을 맞춘 공중위생보건학을 직접 집필하게 되었다.
이 책은 크게 PartⅠ 공중보건학, PartⅡ 소독 및 전염병학, PartⅢ 기초해부생리학, PartⅣ 미
용보건과 영양으로 나누어 미용인으로서 알아야 할 내용을 가능한 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 구성
하였다. PartⅠ은 공중보건, 건강, 환경과 오염, 식품위생, 산업보건, 보건관리의 내용을 다루고
있으며 PartⅡ는 소독학, 역학, 전염병학, PartⅢ는 해부생리학, 인체의 구성, 순환계, 신경계, 내
분비계, 골격계, 근육계, PartⅣ는 영양과 영양소, 영양과 물질대사, 5대 영양소와 피부, 모발과
영양의 내용으로 구성되어 있다. 또한 부록으로 공중위생관리법을 실어 미용인으로서 알아야 할
관련법을 쉽게 숙지할 수 있도록 하였다.
이 책을 읽어가면서 매끄럽지 못한 부분에 대해서는 너그럽게 이해해주시기 바라며 향후 지속
적으로 개선하고 보완할 것을 약속드린다. 끝으로 어려운 출판 여건 속에서도 이 책의 출판을 위
